  Transformational Leadership in Nursing: A Personal Reflection Introduction Leadership and management are two pillars that support successful nursing practice. In my journey as both a leader and manager, I have encountered various experiences—both formal and informal—that have shaped my approach to leadership. This essay explores my reflections on these experiences, the lessons learned, and the areas I wish to develop further. Additionally, I will focus on three contemporary leadership concepts that resonate with me as I pursue my goal of becoming a transformational leader. My Leadership and Management Experiences Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to take on both formal roles, such as charge nurse and team leader, and informal roles, like mentoring new staff members. In my formal positions, I have learned the importance of delegation, communication, and accountability. For instance, while leading a nursing team during a critical care unit shift, I had to ensure that tasks were appropriately delegated to meet patient needs effectively. This experience reinforced my understanding that a leader must not only manage but also inspire trust and collaboration among team members. In my informal leadership roles, I have often found myself guiding less experienced nurses through complex procedures or emotional situations. These interactions taught me the value of empathy and active listening—skills that empower others and foster a positive work environment. Areas for Intentional Development As I strive to become a transformational leader in nursing, I have identified three key concepts within contemporary leadership approaches that I would like to develop intentionally: 1.
