The road to equality has been difficult, as Mexican-Japanese Americans in California created a Framers Union (JMLA) in 1903 in Oxnard, California. There
were the infamous Zoot Suit Riots in 1943 in Los Angeles, California. Yet, we will focus on "Operation Wetback," which was the largest deportation in the
United States. Review the History Channel's account of Operation Wetback (Links to an external site.). You can also do your research if you want to know
more about this topic.
