What, in your own words, is utilitarianism?

            It's essentially about looking at the consequences of actions. If an action leads to more good (happiness, benefit, pleasure) and less bad (suffering, harm, pain) for the majority, then it's considered the right thing to do. The happiness of everyone affected by the action is weighed equally in this calculation.

          In my own words, utilitarianism is an ethical philosophy that says the best action is the one that maximizes overall happiness or well-being for the largest number of people.
