Vulnerability Assessment Methodology

This homework is focused on the vulnerabilities of the power grid with respect to hacking or cyber intrusion.
There are general hacking techniques such as War Dialing, Scanning, Traffic Sniffing, Password
Cracking, etc. Reference [1] has specific information about these general hacking techniques. Reference
[2] is a high-level discussion about the risks of cyberattacks for the power grid. You can find many
publications on IEEE Xplore/Google Scholar and references in the course syllabus.
In this assignment, you are asked to identify one specific source of the vulnerability of the cyber-power
system and analyze in-depth the impact of the vulnerabilities on the power grid. You need to turn in a
two-page report (excluding title page, figures, tables, and references) on the sources of vulnerability you
focus on and analyze the impact on the grid. Be as specific as you can.
