How do these films differ from western cinema?
What cultural differences are on display?
This should be clearly defined in your paper. Choose a film from any time period from the following countries: Japan, Korea, China, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, UAE, Egypt, Nigeria(or any other country on the continent of Africa). You may also choose a film from Mexico if directed by a Mexican director. Your film must have been made in the country it takes place and by a director from that country. For example, Slumdog Millionaire is not Indian Cinema because it was made by a British director. In this review, please compare and contrast how this film is different or similar to what you have seen in Western Cinema. While you can choose any film, the following are some great suggestions: Yojimbo (Japan), Chunking Express(China), Three Idiots(India) Pather Panchali(India) Parasite(Korea), Train to Busan(Korea). Y Tu Mama Tambien (Mexico) World Culture and Diversity Objective: Analyze Western and non-Western cultural traditions in a world context or from a comparative perspective. When reviewing the film, imagine we just sat down and watched it together and now you are going to open your computer and explain to me what you got out of the film. I don’t care about whether or not you liked the film, I want to know what you learned.
