The way a country and its public health system respond to a new viral outbreak can determine whether the disease is controlled with no further spread or whether the outbreak progresses to become an epi-/pandemic. Compare the public health efforts and the responses to the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in South Korea in 2015 and to ZIKA in Brazil in 2015.
